Amanda S. C. Gorman (born March 7, 1998) is an American poet and activist. She gained national acclaim when she delivered her poem "The Hill We Climb" at the inauguration of President Joe Biden on January 20, 2021, becoming the youngest inaugural poet in U.S. history.
Gorman's work focuses on issues of oppression, feminism, race, and marginalization, as well as the African diaspora. She was the first person to be named National Youth Poet Laureate and has written for various publications, including The New York Times.
